Monica, PT
Monica grew up in Guelph and graduated with honors from a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. She worked as a Certified Kinesiologist for 3 years in Oakville focusing on rehabilitation exercises to improve patient’s pain and dysfunction through specific exercise prescription.
She then went on to complete her Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy at Brunel University in London, England. After graduating, Monica continued her professional development and practice in England for about 7 years. She gained experience by working in different settings including hospitals and private clinics helping patients recover from acute injuries to chronic conditions. She has completed various courses in clinical reasoning, manual therapy, acupuncture, taping andconcussion.
Prior to joining Central Health Care, Monica had the opportunity to work with the University of Guelph varsity teams including the track and field team, soccer teams, Women’s Volleyball, and Women’s hockey team. She worked closely with athletes,coaches, the strength and conditioning team and attended events to support the teams.
Monica has always had a passion to help others achieve their goals and feels very grateful to be able to do this. She will complete a thorough physiotherapy assessment to identify the most appropriate treatment to get you back doing the things you love. Treatment may include exercise prescription, manual therapy techniques, acupuncture, taping, different physical modalities, and education and guidance about your injury. Physical modalities may include shockwave therapy, spinal decompression, laser, ultrasound treatment, or interferential current.
Outside of work, she stays active by going to the gym and spending time with family. She also loves to travel and learn about different cultures.
